Half Way There... 20 weeks!

I think I have gone through the 20 week pop. I noticed last night when I put on my pjs (tee and shorts) my belly was stretching the bottom of my small shirt! Then tonight as I was changing I looked in the mirror and my belly was/is HUGE! I put on a shirt and showed Brett that his son was trying to show himself. This was the first time Brett made the comment "your getting big". Brett has asked a lot when was I going to get a "big belly", well I showed him tonight! He even had to get off the couch and come marvel at my new look.

This week I have been to three consignment sales! Baby boy has a TON of clothes already! I love it. I think I could buy for him all day long! On the first sale day my main goal was to buy fancy clothes. I lucked out! I walked away from the two sales with everything I was looking for. I found items from newborn to 4t!

Today, I visited another sale. I saw pics of the items on FB from this sale and couldn't believe that they had 2 gliders and the exact pack-n-play I wanted. Well needless to say by the time I got there they were gone. So, I resorted to clothes shopping. This sale did not have the fancier clothing I had purchased at the pervious sale, so I got more onesies, sleepwear, and tee/shorts/pants sets. I am very happy with the selection I got. I found some really good items. My most expensive item was a pair of shoes that cost $7.50 everything else was under $5.
You can see all of the clothes from the sales here.

Brett and I also think we found a crib. A teacher in our district is selling a Baby's Dream Generation Next crib for $125 and the mattress for $15. We got to take a look at it tonight. Brett really liked it. We are going to make an offer tomorrow!

19 Weeks

What a week this has been! Brett and I were blessed in sharing the gender of our baby with our family and close friends this week. This was a very exciting time for us. For me it was so special for Brett to FINALLY join me at the doctor's office. He finally got to see his baby in "real life" and not a still picture. He also got to hear the heartbeat. It was great getting to look over at him and see how mesmerized he was while watching the monitors.

As many of you know we did not find out the gender of the baby at the dr. office. Instead we shared that moment with our family and friends through a gender reveal party. I think this was the best decision EVER! Everyone was full of anticipation, and kept asking, "Is it time to cut the cake?". We also revealed several names that could possibly end up as our baby's name.

Well on to the party:

18 Weeks

Not to much of a change happening this week. Brett and I go back to the doctor's office on Friday for a big scan that will show us how baby is developing. This will also be our visit where we find out the gender of the baby. However, Brett and I will not find out on Friday the gender, we have opted to find out on Saturday with our family and close friends. This may be one toughest things we do on Friday. I (we) will be so anxious!

One of the coolest things that happened for me this week was actually feeling a kick and seeing it! I have- BABY HAS- yet been able to show this to Brett. I will call him into the room and we will both just stare. I can feel baby rolling, so I tell Brett the general location to look, but no kicks, punches, elbows, head buts, rump bumps. Hopefully Brett will see soon!

I am excited for Brett to come to this appointment, because he has not come to any of the others. Each appointment has been during the school day, so he has not made it. He has yet to hear the heartbeat or see baby do karate in my belly! I hope we can film some of the appointment!

17 Weeks

Changes are happening...
During the past week I have felt the baby move more. She/he seems to nap during school and then right around 4 wake up. My belly is also starting to "pop". In other words it is getting big. Certain dress pants still fit and all of my jeans still fit. I did try on my spring/summer bermuda shorts and I had only one pair fit! :( Due to this I went straight to Target and purchased a belly band. It seems to work with the shorts and might work with the pants as well. While at Target I also bought my first pair of maternity dress pants ($16). I don't really need them, but they were on sale. I will probably wear them in the coming weeks. I've had to wear cardigans a lot hear lately because I feel I am starting to show. Since I haven't told anyone at work I am still trying to hide my belly. I have been wearing dresses more, but hate wearing the leggings. Leggings and hose are to constricting right now. I need to find a comfy pair.

Brett and I went to several baby stores over the weekend to get ideas of what is out there. We had a lot of fun looking at everything. We got some good ideas on things we like and things we don't like.

I also ordered a diaper bag from Pottery Barn. It looked really big, so I thought it would work for a summer/beach bag for down the road. Well it came in and it looks more like a bag to take to Troy games.

16 weeks

So, I have waited awhile to actually start posting to this blog about my pregnancy. WOW! That just sounded weird "my pregnancy". I mean this is something that I waited for, for a really long time. When I was younger I always pictured myself with child/children before I was 25. Now that I look back, I do not think know what I was thinking. 27 is a good age I feel; however this might put a stop to how many kids I have. I can't see myself having kids into my mid-late 30s. Anyway, onto the subject of this entire blog "my pregnancy".

I have been very fortunate in that I have not experienced sickness unless I was riding in the car. Not once have I "revisited" a meal I consumed. Fatigue did hit me in my early weeks, but it has pasted. I frequent the restroom more often. I dislike fried chicken to a degree. I love strawberries and any type of fruit. Salt and vinegar chips have come back into my life. Hard candies are nice to have around. Breakfast is a must, and I am normally snaking on something during 1,2,3 blocks at school.

Brett and I have been discussing names. I tell you Brett has some weird taste in names. This may end up being tough for us. We are not telling anyone our choices, so that it is a surprise. Currently, we have a running list of names covering out bathroom mirror. I thought this would be a good idea to see the names daily.

We have redecorated the guest room and are making room for the baby.

Here are two current pictures of me.
